My name is Kate. i come from England and
am only 17. *I had heard my parents doin "Lakta" impressions when
they watched "Taxi", and saw the a vague humour behind it, but was
too young to appreciate it. When i heard a film about the life behind
the man was due out ("Man on the moon" i figured that there must
have been something more to him than a "foreign man" impression...I
was in awe! never had i felt so compelled to learn and appreciate
another person for the talent and entertainment they brought to
the world. As someone who has never been able to see the man in
action, but all she's learned has complelled her to become besotted
(and have a slight crush) on a man light years ahed of our time,
I must say I envied those close to him. To be able to see the thrill
he got from angering his audience and laughing at them for a joke
only he and Bob understood must have been incredible. Some suggest
he was slightly insane, but if you ask me i don't believe any one
in this world will ever "get it" quite like he did. It also astounds
me how amazing his humour was. To rile an audience up so much that
they don't know whether to laugh or cry because he mimicked a mighty
mouse song, is a termendous feat in any sense! Imagine having so
much impression on the world around you that 20 years after your
death people still thought you were alive and going to come out
and save the world soon (an achievement only made by Andy Kaufman,
Elvis Preistly and Jesus Christ!), must be making those who knew
him, know he achieved what he always wanted, confusion, upset and
being left with the knowledge that some things just can't be explained!
"Danku berry much"! Kate Geary
Andy Kaufman is a great genius... he would have
been my greatest father.. i love him.... Maria Bellu Colonna
Well, Andy was a weirdo, but he also had talent.
He was a smart guy, him and Bob together that is. I think Bob Zmuda
needs more notice. He hardly is told about, I man, Bob was half the
brain who thought these things up. Well, just thought I should say
that. Sky
The writings and performances of Andy Kaufman
have changed my perspective on life. It was not so much how he entertained
or how creative and original his characters were, but how he approached
life. His mentality, or lack thereof, was a breath of fresh air in
my downtrodden life. I used to be an alcoholic and a heroin addict,
and I don't mind who knows it. My life used to be a whirlwind of benders
and and a blur of drug-induced episodes that I am proud to say I have
left behind. One of the major factors in my recovery was discovering
Andy Kaufman. I found solace in the attitude of Andy Kaufman and his
general approach to life. His original thinking taught me that I can
be different, I can be myself, and I can be happy, and I don't need
drugs or alcohol to do it. Drugs and alcohol used to be my main fix,
now I can proudly say that Andy Kaufman is my new "fix." Thank you
Andy, wherever you are. Arnold Pinderhoffenstoffenoffenopolis
Andy Kaufman was a genious! I'm 16 1/2 years
old, and I've known about him since I was about 12. I'll be performing
a one-person show as Andy, and I'm female. Yes, a girl playing Andy.
But he tricked so many people, I'm doing the same. I'll be training
myself to talk like him and his characters, I'll be making costumes...
I'll even immitate "de edvis pdessdy". ^_^ Can't wait to do it, but
it'll definitely take some time. You guys are great! I wish you all
the best of luck! Caroline Bailey
It touches me more and more to know how many
people out there love Andy...I have established a mailing list specifically
for female fans called "Beautiful Dreamer"; information about it can
be found at http://www.topica.com/lists/Beautiful_Dreamer

Hi! I am only 20 years old so I didn't get
the pleasure of seeing Andy perform while he was living, but I do
appreciate the work he did and I am very intregued by it. He was a
wonderful performer and I regret only being three when he passed away,
it's not fair! Andy has touched my life and I love him and the work
he loved so much. Erica
Andy Kaufman was able to effect his audiance
in a way that no other entertainer could. He had a way of touching
people in a place that they didn't even know they had. The world now
is deprived of this and it was taken for granite when it was here.
Maybe some day someone will be as brilliant as he was and they will
be recognized for their excellence. Dilbert
I've seen so many Kaufman things, but not all
(Definatly gotta see them all) and though my goal in life is to be
like my savior, Jesus Christ, I also have learned a thing or two from
our old friend, Andy. Jesus has taught me to be honest and loving
for all of the Lord's creations, but Andy had taught me to be strong
in my religion and to go to the extreme to express my P.O.V. without
fearing the consequences. In my opinion and many others, he was the
greatest actor/Comedian to ever live, God gave him a wonderful gift
and he used it very well and though he was taken young (not even a
year after I was born :-( which sucks to be me) I am glad to know
that there was such a person to exist and was just himself at all
times who would do what no one else did because if he was like everyone
else, wouldn't that be boring! Ild tip my hat to him, but I don't
have one, so I'll just let his memory live within me, even though
I just heard about him! "...Knowing how you made me laugh, hearing
sweet echos of you from the past, I will remember you... so please
remember, I will remember you"-Amy Grant, I will remember you I pray
the Lord's prayer for Andy's soul, and say Goodbye "Just a little
*boy* big imagination never letting no one take it away, went into
the world, what a revelation he found theres a better way for you
and me to be. Look for the rainbow in every storm, find out for certain
loves gonna be there for you, you'll always be someone's baby"-Spice
Girls, Goodbye God Bless Alleia
Even though I'm too young to remember who he
was, I've seen archived footage of him and scenes from Taxi, which
I taped myself. I think he was original and whether you liked him
or not, he was there with his own brand of comedy and his own way
of doing things and I respect him for that. People didn't like the
fact that he was different, but now things are way different, he wasn't
out of line or out of his mind he was right on and being a little
"Odd" myself, I understand what he was doing and it was great. He
may be gone, but his memory lives on and even though I'm too young
to remember him, I'm not too young to create a memory. Kaufman_fan_Loves_Jesus_1983
Andy was, in my opinion, the greatest comedians
of all time, or as he would prefer, a "song-and-dance man." He was
rememberable in everyone's hearts, if it was for the best or the worst.
Andy was a guy that is hard to forget, he will always be remembered.
We miss you Andy. Dylan V.
My names Jesse I'm 16 And I have to say to
this day andy makes me laugh a lot, My parent's were around watching
him and they thought he was stupid, I figure if people at least remember
you then it dosen't matter if you'r a stupid person or not.. I love
my grandma too.. :} Jesse Studebaker
Andy has touched my life because of the way
he handed himself. He didn't care what reaction he got from the crowd
just as long as he got a reaction. He wanted to have just as much
fun as the audiance during the show. Gabe "The Puma" Muma
'Man on the Moon' was a great film. I only
wish I was old enough to have seen the real thing. He looks like a
very funny man. Charlie Thomson
I don't know why I'm prompted to send you comments
before I see the page... hehe... So, I guess - I hope this page rocks!!
Yeh!! Umm... This page is AWESOME (I hope)!! Jamie
Andy was a wonderful man, I'm sad that he's
gone. But he will always be in the hearts of all his wonderful fans.

It's good to have people you can aspire to.
Andy Kaufman is one of those people. The way he conducted his life
and career is something to not only enjoy but actually learn from.
Maybe there is an unconcious piece of him in all of us that just needs
waking. Matt Crook
Andy's boldness has been a true inspiration
to my life and he made me look at things in a different way. In my
eyes this man was the smartest man that ever lived. Kim
