Andy is a modern day Mozart. There will
never be anyone like him. Erin
Andy was truly an artist. Matt
One of the great performers of the second half
of the twentieth century, Andy Kaufman changed the world with his
brand of interesting entertainment. Kevin
I think Andy Kaufman was a true genius. He
did everything he did because He could! Mariano
Andy was the most brilliant person ever. The
few people who understand his means of humor are the ones that made
Andys life full, and good. There are the dead head soccer moms out
there who think Andy is a bad influence, and those people only knew
the surface Andy, it takes a die hard fan to know what he was really
about. And I'm sure, if Andy were alive today, we would take a bullet
for him. Or, at least, I would. Collin Cable
I knew Andy back in Great Neck in the Sixties.
He had some really great parties at his house. At some point during
the parties the drums would be brought out and it would be real primal
drumming. Pots and pans would be used. I must say it was a pleasure
to know him for he was always a good person. Jimmy Egan
Please check out the E! True Hollywood Story
about Andy coming up on 10/25/98 at 8pm Eastern and Pacific. I had
the honor of playing Andy in the recreation scenes as well as narrating
the 2 hour special. Please visit my website for more info at www.wallyontheweb.com.
Thanks fellow Andy fans! Wally Wingert
I just want to say that, to me, Andy Kaufman
was the coolest guy I have never met, but would be right beside him
in the line to mess with peoples minds. I think that Andy had the
time of his life for most of his life, and I consider him a role model...also,
I believe he tripped acid often... I was very, very happy to see that
there were some websites devoted to him.....thanks to you guys out
there that posted them...you guys rock!....I hope Andy will reappear
and become a spokesman for world anarchy... but then, would he still
say "I'm from Hollywood!"..."I'll sue you all!"
you may post this message or any part of it, tdank you veddy much.

Andy kaufman was the funniest man who ever
lived. I loved him even though he died when I was two. Cameron
Stern
Andy was a breakthrough genious who knew what
America laughs at. Derek
I think that andy was a brilliant man among
morons. He knows what he was doing when he left every one clueless.
He wouldnt have it any other way and thats what I think. John Peralez
Andy Kaufman was a comedic genius. Andrew
Andy Kaufman was the greatest. I wish he was
still with us today!!!!! Lisa
Andy Kaufman was the most brilliant absurdist
performer we've known. He knew the game oh so well. He still walks
among us. I am on a campaign to get Andy kaufman voted "Man of
the Century" in the TIME magazine Poll . Visit my site to learn
more. Jason Baileyhttp://bennyhills.fortunecity.com/morris/91/
Andy wasn't a comedian. Andy was a professional
reality-bender. We need more of those. Edison Maxwell
Let me just say great page. Andy rocked and
I know he's still out there, somewhere.... Anyway, just to let everyone
know, this Sunday (10/25/98) Andy will be featured on the E! True
Hollywood Story on E! entertainment television. Thank you! A. Cook
I think this is a great page dedicated a great
comic genius. He kept everyone thinking and unsure of what was real
and what wasn't. Im glad to see such a great page about him. Matt
Kahn
Andy was a genious. He always had a trick up
his sleeve. He had a lot of guts. Jerry Lawler is great as well. Jim
Carry probobly won't do Andy justice in the movie. jP
Andy Kaufman was one of those rare genius'.
He was the quiet one, someone you would never expect; then all of
a sudden it would happen, he would surprise you with the most off-the-wall
comedy. That was Andy Kaufman. Neal Doerner
I like your pics of Andy most I've never seen
on any other page good job! Ted Passon
I hope that all of Andy's performances will
be available for sale now that there is a lot of rekindled interest
in his work. I would love to have tapes of his nightclub acts and
his TV show. Maybe Bob Zmuda will get on that so we can enjoy Andy's
work in a format other than short clips from the documentaries about
him(I'm from Hollywood, the E! biography, and so forth). Hopefully,
"Man on the Moon" will be a worthy bio of this genius of
a comedian, although I have some reservations about Jim Carrey playing
Andy. At least his star status will ensure a good draw for the opening
weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, but even more to
the potential releases of Andy's TV special or tapes of his and Tony
Clifton's nightclub act.Mark Morris
You have a nice collection of pictures that
are effectivly used to tell Andy's story. It is easy to see how much
Andy was in love with performing in front of live audiences. The upcoming
movie "Man On The Moon" will show the public all of Andy's
wonderful talents. See http://andykaufman.jvlnet.com
for another great Website dedicated to the greatest comedian of all
time. BoB
I love Andy Kaufman. It sadens me that he's
dead. He could have done so much more. He died the year that I was
born. I think his genius is unparellel to any one in the entire world.
There will be no other good enough to ever match his talent and insight.
Mike Murdock
Andy Kaufman was the Jim Carrey of the 70's
and 80's. I think he's awesome, and a terrific comedian. His zany
antics make me laugh. Justin Johnson
Andy is a modern day Jim Morrison. Is he a
genius or just plain mad? I beleive he had the Mojo working and was
a mad genius! When are you coming back Andy? The joke's oVer! We miss
you :( R.I.P.???) Joe King
I just watched the video "Im from Hollywood"
and I had a hard time believing it all really happened. Was it all
a set-up or did he really do all those things in all seriousness?
Mary Maricle
Talked with some friends about Andy Kauffman
and we salvaged all our eecollections from tv, news, rtc. We came
to the conclusion that, much like Lenny Bruce, Andy Kauffman erased
the line between life and performance so that life's experiences and
art/performance became synonyms. Just an idea. Reflex
He was a great performer. I really enjoyed watching
him. Jenny
When a man is prepared to die - it hurts us
more to see him die than it does him to do it. Crispin Glover
I am only 14 but through a varity of comemeration
specials Andy has become sort of a idol to me. One day I hope to be
a comedian too, just like Andy. Shawn
I hope that andy kaufman isn't really dead...
that would be the ultimate joke on all of us!!! i miss him so much...
Orlando F.
Ever since I saw a clip of Andy getting beat
up in one of his stand-up routines by a woman in the crowd-- I knew
just then, that this man was a genius. Granted he's a lunatic, but
a true genius! I only wish he was still around so I could witness
him in person, and try to see what is really behind those mesmerizing
eyes. Katie Murphy
Andy Kaufman was a complete genius. He knew
exactly what he was doing everytime he did it and when the audiences
didn't understand it made it even better. His style of performing
was a break from the norm and that is what makes Andy so unique to
this day. Dank you beddy much!! Ronnie Vaughn
I'm so interested in Andy Kaufman, that I'm
doing my Senior Thesis over him. He was a wonderful man that made
people feel emotions deep in their heart and I want to be just like
him when I go into acting. Jim Carrey will never be Andy Kaufman.
Heather
Andy Kaufman was not only one of the great
entertainers of the 20th century,he was one of the greatest entertainers
of all time. The true genius of his work is that it get's better and
better as time goes on. He will inspire and entertain more people
in the 21st century than he has in this one. TJB
I come from the "90's Generation"
so I wasn't old enough to remember Andy Kaufman, but looking back
on him I see the biggest problem that confronts my generation--none
of us have balls of steel like Andy did. Brent
I think Andy Kaufman was a great performer,
he always stayed in character, and was great at playing all of his
characters. If you have any websites I could visit please tell me.
I am doing a report on him and would like more info. Thanx Luv
Jenzs
We will always love you Andy, and may you rest
in peace, wherever you are. Jordan
You could love him or hate him, he didn't care,
as long as he made you think, and thats what was great about him.
He will always be remembered. Jordan
I have always believed that Andy Kaufmann was
one the the funniest comic geniuses ever. And I still beleive that
he died much too young... Robert Sands
If there was ever a man who could make you
hate him and love him at the same time purposefully, it was andy.
People who didn't know comedy well must have hated him, but, as Jim
Carrey put it, "Comedians would stand in the back and go: 'I
gotta build a statue, and it's gotta be of HIM!" he was an unmesurable
genius, and did his acts so convincingly that people were poking his
corpse at his funeral to make sure it wasn't one of his tricks.
James Graves
I always want to watch all his old stuff and
everytime it makes me laugh. Thank you Andy for all the laughs.
Kevin Drew
I have only recently begun to follow the work
of Andy Kauffman, whom I became aware of thanks to multiple airings
of his specials on Comedy Central. He died when I was 5 but I regret
not being able to see more of his work when it was more easily available.
Too bad he's dead! I liked his comedic methods. Chris Butler
Andy is my favorite comedian ever tied with
the entire cast of "The State". In the words of Jim Carrey
"He went were no one else went... saw the world as his own puppet
show". I want to be the next Andy Kaufman though I can not just
replace him. Teet
I feel that Andy was experimenting with how
people react to cetain things. I think that when he turned to wrestling
he had everything planned from his experiments. Bobby Geiger
Andy was a great performer, taking comedy where
no one else had gone. Andy made us all wonder if it was staged or
real. Andy rose something out of anyone who saw him, let it be anger,
laughter, or contempt. Robbie
Andy is without a doubt the greatest comedian
that ever lived! Barry
Andy Kaufman was a pure great. He was and is
the best performer that has ever lived. No matter if it was foreign
man or any of Andys things he didn't compromise what he wanted to
do. Adam C
I was 4 when Andy died. Today, I learn from
his extraordinary vision. He never changed reality; rather, much
like Darwin or Newton, he had "the gall to ask"; the fearlessness
to challenge our beliefs and perceptions of reality. And he had
fun doing it. Robin Williams put it best -- Andy is the infinite
set-up; and we are his punchline. Paul
