....

Andy Kaufman was a comic genius. My father told me this afternoon that he had the pleasure of being called up on stage with Mr. Kaufman during one of his early routines. I wish I could have met Mr. Kaufman. Daliyah Greenspan

I think Andy was like left handed person who was born in rigth handed world. He is a Genius!!!! Francsico J. Rivera
I am 31 years old. I remember everything andy did. He was the consummate performance artist. We love you andy. We'll see you in the great beyond. God bless you, sweetheart. elizabeth cooper
I had never heard of Andy Kaufman before I watched the movie. He was a great man and the more I learn about him the more I like him. Jamie Madrix
ilove you andy kaufman. mike kaufman
I absolutely love Andy. He was a brilliant man. People don't realize how special he was to entertainment and to one's life. He took the time to make everything that he did, as ordinary as possible. If not taking the time to understand him and appreciate him, you should at least give him that credit. He took everything that anyone else was afraid to do, and turned it into an art. He was not a comedian, nor crazy, nor ignorant, he was simply a man that continuously indulged himself in life. He enjoyed himself and his work. I just hope that someday everyone will enjoy him in the same way. Jennifer Lail
Andy rocks on!he was the best and always will be.We love you andy! -your #1 fans. Samantha and Sarah
I thought Jim Carey's performance in the movie "Man on the Moon" was Aawesome. Everything about him was prefect. I think andy was by far the greatest prankster in the world. Andy Kaufman is/was/and allways will be the greatest comedian in the world. Ian
can you ever find a man more true to what he wanted to be and what he wanted to do than andy kauffman? I dont think you or anyone elese will ever find anyone else like him. He used his head to come up with something no matter what the outcome was. He wanted to make people think about why he was doing something. Keep them off guard but still do what he enjoyed most perform. In my mind and heart andy kauffman will forever be in our hearts and souls. Andy is a man whom no one should ever forget. The world is your stage andy. Jeremy Burbaugh
I remember being eight...I hated taxi, but I loved latka...we watched it in reruns on channel nine. My mom always bought tabloids, and i had read them with her since i was four...I remember seeing the image of him bald and frail in the chair and being so sad, even though I had no comprehension of what he was beyond the funny little foriegn man. Hmph. How very little I knew. But how very grateful I am that he put a smile on my face even then. Genius and insanity cannot exist without one another...he lived as proof that the ones we think are the most unstable are actually the only ones who know how to maintain the balance. Bravo. Regan
Andy is seriously the best comedian that there ever was. I just cannot wait for him to make his dramatic comeback from faking his death! Nate
I must say that I expected Man On The Moon to absolutly suck since I saw the man perform back in the early 80's. (Mostly the wrestling stuff!) Although they got the wrestling lines completley out of order and ruined the context of most of it the movie still ruled! I didn't think that anyone could possibly play Andy and one look at Jim Carrey made me skeptical since he didn't look like Andy but he blew me away! I still can't believe Andy is dead, not because of the questions of a possible hoax but because why would God take someone with such extraordinary talent away from us when his work was clearly unfinished so to speak. CHRIS GREENAWAY
Andy was there to amuse himself for the most part. He was a genius. Yes i beleve that the wrestling killed his career but thats what he wanted to do! Now the big question. Did he fake his death? My opinion is if he had the choice to he would but did he have the choice, I wouldnt but anything past Andy! Dont always beleve what you see on TV!!! levi
I have always been a huge fan of Andy, although I am only 17 years old. I always thought that Andy and I would've gotten along really well. We could've tried to understand eachother. I wish that I would've gotten the chance to meet him, but I guess I never will. This is a wonderful site and tribute to this captivatingly provacative character! PS- I think that Jim Carrey did a really good job of portraying Andy in "Man on the Moon." He is very gifted. armina
Andy is the funniest person that I have ever seen! I have just seen the movie "Man On the Moon" and it was GREAT! The greatest part of Andy's carrer is his multipal personalitys and how you never knew if he was joking around or actually being serious. Jesse Price
Andy Kaufman was the greatest song and dance man to ever live. Even if there were many people who despised him, there are still many more who appreciate his genious. His greatest prank of all time was his death. He's got most of us wondering if maybe he is still alive. You never know with andy. Edna
You think you know someone... I watched my share of TV during the late seventies and eighties, but I never knew that Kaufman participated so actively in what seems like a volatile life. I went to see _Man on the Moon_ tonight and I thought it would be best to check some sources regarding Andy so that I could get a better perspective of the his creative genius and tragic response to life. Andrea
Had he lived, Andy could have been greater than Hope, Benny, Berle and Cosby combined. He was setting standards. Latka made a perfect laboratory for understatement that led to sudden realization that one had been taken in so completely. Laughter came easily, because who wants to cry at humor so profound that it leaves us with no defense. Randall
In my opinion the movie "Man On The Moon" was just great. I think Jim Carrey was the very right person to play the part of Andy Kaufmann. I really liked the encitement of the movie. I never knew what will happen next. I also like the soundtrack. REM created a bunch of excellent songs. And I can`t get "Man On The Moon" out of my mind. Karin Kuehnel
Jesus, I mean Andy Kaufman told me he was to be resurrected in 2012, and he was bringing Clifton a little surpise. tank you. HOOLIO BAKARE
Andy was the greatest actor of all time. Funny I would say this, when he only played on one hit show, and was never in a big time movie, nor was he a broadway actor. He did something that made him a great actor, and that's that his life was a show, not because fate chose it that way, like someone winning the lottery and using that money to feed the poor, but he chose it that way, he ran the show, he made us believe he was crazy, and when people would realize something he was doing was an act, he'd do something completely different to get them to think he's crazy again. Any other man would never be able to fool the entire world like Andy did, and that's why he's the greatest actor ever. I'm sure if Andy were alive today (which he always could be) he'd still be fooling us. God knows how, but he would. Anyway, Andy Kaufman forever! Neko
I'm a huge Andy Kaufman fan and I think he's a genius. And I think that whatever he considered himself I think he was damn good at everything he did!!! Dana Ismay
Andy Kaufman. What do you think about when you hear that name?Do you think about Latka,or maybe Tony Clifton.Or maybe Elvis.Me,I think of how great a genius he really was.I mean think about it,this is a man who made people angry and screwed with thier minds for a living.People say he was ignorant. No,he wasn't he was just intelligent to pull off such a thing!I'm 16 and a new Andy fan. After going to see the movie, and reading the biography I was amazed about his persona.I adored what he did with his life. But I believe he staged his death and is still alive, maybe even reading this website right now!Well I just wanted to say he's one hell of an inspiration to me and to so many others! Kudos Andy, Where ever you are!!! Dana Ismay
Andy was a great man he made us laugh he made us smile let,s put it this way there are no words to describe Andy. jim
i think andy is the best wrestler of all times and if he were here now i would be just like him. nick
In my eyes he was a smart person and even tho I am only 15 I remeber him from taxi and if it wasn't for the movie man on the moon I would never of know what kind of life he had and that the world he lived in is the same as mine. So it makes me connect the things that happened to him to the things that go on in my life. it kinda makes me want to live like him because he would make others thing and ask why things are the way they are, thats a question no one really ever asks. He stood out in crowd and makes me want to do the same. Joanna Lynn

I was three years old when Andy died, and so could not appreciate his humor when he was alive. Heck I'd never even heard of him until I was 16, when I saw a special on Comedy Central. I was so amazed by the hilarious audacity of a man who would wrestle women as a joke, and have entire crowds of people ready to linch him. I started watching re-runs of Taxi, and appreciating it, but never really getting into the Latka character. It seemed as if Latka was a good idea that became over-commercialized by the networks. I kept going back to the wrestling to guage his genius. Then I heard Man On The Moon, and I really liked the fact that he now had a tribute in song. THEN I heard about the film, and I became extatic. I've gotten really excited over few films in my life. Star Wars, Jurassic Park, etc. And Man On The Moon turned out to be not only a fitting tirbute to Andy, but also a Wonderful film. Here's to one of the most brilliant entertainers of our (And anyone else's) Time, and one of the greates films of our time. Tom Hurst
